Who is John Caudwell?
John David Caudwell is an English businessman and philanthropist who has made his fortune in the mobile phone business. In 2012, Forbes estimated Caudwell's net worth at $2.6 billion, and ranked him the 464th richest person in the world, 13th in the UK.
Most of his time is now spent on philanthropic work. Caudwell has pledged to give at least half of his wealth away to his charitable foundation on his death. In January 2014, he was named in a list of Britain's 500 most influential people by Debrett's.
