Who is Katherine, Crown Princess of Yugoslavia?

Katherine, Crown Princess of Yugoslavia, also named Katherine Karađorđević, is the wife of Alexander, Crown Prince of Yugoslavia.

Katherine was educated in Athens and Lausanne, Switzerland. She studied business at the University of Denver, Colorado and the University of Dallas, Texas. Princess Katherine worked in business for a few years in the United States.

On 25 November 1962, Katherine married Jack W. Andrews. From that marriage she has two children, David and Alison. Alison has four children: Amanda, Stephanie, Nicolas and Michael; David has a son Alexander, born 1 March 2008. Both Alison and David live in Greece. Princess Katherine has traveled extensively and has lived in Australia, Africa and the United States. Katherine and Jack Andrews were divorced on 7 December 1984.

Crown Princess Katherine met her second husband in Washington DC in 1984, and they were married in London on 21 September 1985. Their best man was Constantine II of Greece, and the witness was Prince Tomislav of Yugoslavia, Crown Prince Alexander’s uncle.

The Crown Princess has dedicated much of her time to charitable activities since the conflict in the former Yugoslavia. She works in humanitarian relief, and is the patron of various humanitarian organizations including Lifeline Humanitarian Organization. In 2001 she established The Foundation of Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine in Belgrade in order to expand her charitable works. In the United States of America the Foundation is a 501 and registered as Lifeline Humanitarian Organization, donations are tax deductible according to the extent of the law. Lifeline Humanitarian Organization is also a registered charity in Canada No. 885426403, Greece No. 998317860 and the United Kingdom No.1027278.
