Who was Newt Halliday?
Newton Schurz Halliday was a first baseman in Major League Baseball. He played one game for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1916.
After joining the United States Navy, Halliday attended the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, where he contracted tuberculosis, which led to his death at the age of 21.
