Who is Octavian Guţu?
Octavian Guţu
is an Olympic swimmer from Moldova who swam for his native county at the 2004 Olympics. After he join french team and represents Racing Club de France RCF in national swimming meets. 2006 Tours he became unofficial french champion 4x100 Free style relay. Also 2006 winning gold medal for his university ASSAS Paris . He has also swum internationally for Romania 2007 World Championship Melbourne In 4x100 Midley Relay and classify at 8th place in the world. 2007 joins the Cannet66 swimming club where is training with Philippe Lucas famous French coach his young protégé Laure Manaudou won 3 Olympic medals including gold in the 400m freestyle, silver in the 800m free, and a bronze in the 100m back.
His dual swimming nationality caused problems for him in 2008, when the Court of Arbitration for Sport ruled that he could not represent Moldova at the 2008 Summer Olympics having swum for Romania at the 2007 World Championships.
Octavian is presently a coach at Cote-St-Luc Aquatics in Montreal, Quebec.
