Who is Patrick Donnellan?
Patrick Donnellan is an Irish hurler who currently plays as a centre-back for the Clare senior team. At club level Donnellan plays with O'Callaghan's Mills.
Born in O'Callaghan's Mills, County Clare, Donnellan first excelled at hurling in his youth. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of twenty when he first linked up with the Clare under-21 team. He made his senior debut in the 2006 championship. Donnellan has since gone on to play a key part in defence for Clare, and has won National Hurling League medals in the various tiers of the competition and one Waterford Crystal Cup medal.
In 2013, Donnellan captained Clare to win the All-Ireland Final in a replay against Cork.
