Kennedy, paternal grandfather of businessman/politician Joseph Patrick "Joe" Kennedy, Sr., and patrilineal great-grandfather of World War II casualty Joseph Patrick "Joe" Kennedy, Jr., President John Fitzgerald "Jack" Kennedy, Senator Robert Francis "Bobby" Kennedy, and longtime Senator Edward Moore "Ted" Kennedy.
