Who is Reg Wyatt?
Reg Wyatt is a businessman and former politician in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is an insurance salesman, and was a member of Winnipeg City Council from 1983 to 1986. His son Russ Wyatt is a current member of city council, having represented the Transcona ward since 2002.
Wyatt created the company Wyatt Premier Insurance in 1970. He served as president of the Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba in 1993-94. During this period, he argued against allowing banks to enter the insurance business on the grounds that it would create a disadvantage for customers.
He was elected to the Winnipeg City Council in the 1983 municipal election, defeating former councillor Joe Masi in the open seat of Transcona. He did not seek re-election in 1986.
