Who is Richard Agar?

Richard Agar is an English rugby league football coach and former player. He is the head coach of Super League side Wakefield Trinity. Richard is the son of retired player coach Allan Agar.

Agar played for Featherstone Rovers, Dewsbury and Widnes, where he played 16 games in 2001 and won an NFP Grand Final winners medal. He spent four years as assistant coach at Hull under John Kear and Peter Sharp. In 2008 Hull appointed Richard Agar as their Head Coach following the departure of Sharp.

In September 2011 it was announced that Agar had signed a three-year deal with Wakefield Trinity and will become their head coach following the end of the 2011 season.
