Who is Sheila Simon?
Sheila J. Simon is an American politician and educator who is the 46th and current Lieutenant Governor of the state of Illinois. She was a Professor of Law at the Southern Illinois University School of Law. Simon is the daughter of former U.S. Senator Paul Simon, who had previously served as Lieutenant Governor of Illinois, and his first wife, former Illinois State Representative Jeanne Hurley Simon. In early 2014 Simon announced her candidacy for Illinois Comptroller. Governor Pat Quinn selected Paul Vallas to be his running mate in 2014.
