Who was Sir Jonathan Trelawny, 2nd Baronet?
Sir Jonathan Trelawny, 2nd Baronet, of Trelawne, Cornwall, was an English Member of Parliament.
He was the fourth child and eldest son of Sir John Trelawny, 1st Baronet, High Sheriff of Cornwall, and succeeded to the baronetcy on 16 February 1664.
He entered Parliament in 1660 as member for East Looe, and subsequently also represented Cornwall and Liskeard.
He married Mary Seymour, interred on 5 March 1680, daughter of Sir Edward Seymour of Berry Pomeroy and their children included the following seven sons, as well as at least one daughter, Mary:
Captain John Trelawny, killed at Tangier without issue
Jonathan Trelawny, died an infant
Sir Jonathan Trelawny, who succeeded as the 3rd Baronet and became Bishop of Bristol, Exeter and Chichester
Major-General Charles Trelawny, a Member of Parliament
William Trelawny, died unmarried
Chichester Trelawny, unmarried
Brigadier-General Henry Trelawny, a Member of Parliament, married Rebecca Hals and had issue
