Who was Candido Amantini?

Rev. Fr. Candido of the Immaculate, C.P. known in secular life as Eraldo Ulisse Mauro Amantini, was an Italian Roman Catholic Passionist Priest and a Master Exorcist. He was also a sought after spiritual director and confessor. For thirty-six years, Fr. Amantini was the chief exorcist of Rome. Stationed at the Church of the Holy Staircase, he would often see 60 to 80 people per day. Fr. Candido also taught Sacred Scripture and Moral Theology. He wrote a book entitled Il Mistero di Maria, about the Virgin Mary.
