Who is Andrew McDonald?
Andrew John McDonald is a former water polo player who won a silver medal for the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. He is a graduate of Stanford University where he met his first wife Kim Peyton McDonald, an Olympic Gold Medalist from the 1976 Montreal Summer Olympics in the 4x100m Freestyle Relay. He was named to the Stanford Athletic Hall of Fame in 1982 and USA Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1991.
McDonald participated in two Pan American Games. In 1979, he played on the USA team, which won the gold medal in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1983, he won the title with the USA team in Caracas, Venezuela.
