Who is André Francis?
André Francis was THE voice of jazz on the government-owned radio stations that belonged to the ORF (then ORTF). His announcements are still heard on various official record releases of ORTF-sponsored concerts by the likes of Miles Davis and John Coltrane, amongst others. He was born in 1925 and started his radio career when he 23.
