Who is Annie B. Martin?
Annie B. Martin was an American pioneer of the labor and civil rights movements. A South Carolina native, Martin participated in "every march on Washington since 1963," was appointed New York state assistant commissioner of labor under three governors, served sixteen terms as president of the New York City branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and sat on that association's national board of directors for nineteen years.
