Who was Anton Lindner?

Anton Lindner was a German Luftwaffe ace and recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross during World War II. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Anton Lindner joined the postwar Luftwaffe in 1956 and retired in 1972 as an Oberstleutnant. During his career he was credited with 73 aerial victories, 1 on the Western Front and 72 on the Eastern Front.
