The rich and respectable Captain Augusts Frederick Thistlewayte, living at 15 Grosvenor Squarte, London, married Laura Bell. There she gave fashionable tea parties. In 1887 Augustus was found shot dead in his bed, by his own revolver, and Laura became a strong willed evangelist.
