Who is Axel Johannessen?
Axel Theodor Johannessen was a Norwegian paediatrician and Professor of Paediatrics at The Royal Frederick University from 1895 to 1921. He was one of the first paediatricians in Norway and founded the discipline of paediatrics at the university. He also founded the Norwegian Society of Pediatricians and served as its President until 1922. He received the Order of St. Olav in 1907.
