Who is Bill Koski?
William John Koski is a retired American professional baseball player, a right-handed pitcher who worked in 13 Major League games, all but one in relief, for the Pittsburgh Pirates during the 1951 season. Born in Madera, California, he stood 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighed 185 pounds.
In his one starting assignment, his second Major League appearance on May 5, 1951, Koski lasted 4โ innings against the New York Giants, gave up four hits, six bases on balls and four earned runs, and took the loss in an 8โ3 defeat at the Polo Grounds. It was his only Major League decision. In 27 MLB innings pitched that season, Koski allowed 26 hits and 28 bases on balls, with six strikeouts.
He spent most of his seven-year career at the middle rungs of the Pirates' farm system, compiling a 39โ48 record.
