Who is Bill Spurling?
William "Bill" Spurling was an Australian rules footballer who played with Footscray in the Victorian Football League.
Spurling was a key position player who was used mostly as a centre half-forward. He kicked a career high 24 goals in 1931 and polled nine Brownlow votes. In the same year he also represented the Victorian interstate team twice.
In 1936 he joined Kyneton in the Bendigo Football League. He won the league's Best and Fairest award in his first season.
