Who was Bill Tobin?
William J. "Bill" Tobin was a Canadian ice hockey player, executive and head coach. He was the founding general manager of the Chicago Black Hawks, serving also as its coach in several seasons, and later became its president. From 1946 to 1950, he was also a part-owner of the team, as part of the Norris syndicate which controlled the team. His older brother Charles Tobin was also a professional ice hockey player.
