William "Billy" Winstanley born in Platt Bridge, was an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1900s and '10s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, England, and Lancashire, and at club level for Platt Bridge ARLFC, Leigh, and Wigan, as a Prop, Hooker, Second-row, or Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 8 or 10, 9, 11 or 12, or 13 during the era of contested scrums.
