Who is Brian Etheridge?
Brian George Etheridge is a retired English football player and manager. He played in the Football League for Northampton Town and Brentford.
Etheridge made his début at the age of 16 for Northampton Town. He collected 18 youth caps for England.
Brentford was Etheridge's next team. But Brentford were relegated in 1967 and as a consequence Etheridge moved to Belgium to play for Daring FC. This was also under the influence of Billy Elliott, who was the manager of Daring FC at that time. Daring FC were relegated from the First Division and again Etheridge made a move. He signed a contract with Second Division side Cercle Brugge. As Cercle failed to gain promotion, Etheridge returned to England. He started a new career as player-manager with lower teams Bedford Town, Corby Town, Wellingborough Town and Rushden Town.
After his football career, Etheridge was active in the transport business. In his later life he became a very successful businessman in the packaging industry. Brian Etheridge died in 2011, leaving a wife and 2 children.
