In Canada, he is a writer for Suite101, and in China for eChinacities and China Trade Mag, amongst others. He has over 5,000 articles on the Internet, dealing with many different topics.

Hill's past writing has dealt mainly with homelessness, mental illness, marginalisation and Aboriginal Reconciliation, though he also has a keen interest in politics and travel. He has also appeared in newspaper, radio and television interviews addressing these issues.
