Who was Doris Boyd?

Doris Lucy Eleanor Bloomfield Boyd was an Australian artist, active as a painter and ceramicist. She married Merric Boyd, a potter and painter.

The Boyd family artistic dynasty includes painters, sculptors, architects and other arts professionals, commencing with Doris Boyd's father-in-law Arthur Merric Boyd; and Merric Boyd's brothers Penleigh, a landscape artist, and Martin, a writer. Merric Boyd's sister was painter Helen Read. Doris and Merric Boyd raised noted Australian artists including painters Arthur and David, and sculptor Guy. Their daughter, Mary, married artist John Perceval, and later Sydney Nolan. Subsequent generations of the Boyd family are or were active in the arts.
