Who is Doug Vaughn?
News 4 Sports Anchor ' ' ' Doug Vaughn' ' ' returned to his hometown of St. Louis to join KMOV Channel 4 as a Sports Anchor and Reporter in 1988, Vaughn anchors the 5, 6, and 10 pm sportscasts on Fridays, and the 5:30 and 10:30 pm sportscasts on Sundays, He is also a reporter for the 5, 6, and 10 pm sportscasts, Monday through Wednesday, and a main reporter on News 4's Sports Sunday, a 60-Minute show of highlights local and national sports news.
Vaughn's many professional accomplishments include winning eight St. Louis Emmy Awards. He is a five-time winner of the "Best Sportscaster "Emmy, receiving the award in 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996 and 2000. He has also won Emmys in the categories of "Best Sports Reporting" and "Best Sports Feature."
He says that his most memorable story was following Mark McGwire's record-breaking 70 home run season in 1998, Covering the historical event spring training to the last day of the season was extraordinarily exciting for Vaughn.
Prior to joining "News 4 St. Louis," Vaughn gained broadcasting experience as an Anchor / Reporter for WSVN-TV in Miami, FL and a Sports Director for KTTC-TV in Rochester, MN.
A lover of all sports, Vaughn excelled in baseball and played for two years at St. Louis Community College at Meramec, Before transferring to the University Of Missouri-Columbia during his junior year, Now his baseball is limited to coaching little league teams.
Vaughn is a graduate from the University Of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism.
