Who is Durand Scott?

Durand Scott is an American professional basketball player. He played his college basketball for the University of Miami. As a senior at Rice High School in New York City, he beat out Lincoln High School's Lance Stephenson for Daily News NYC High School Player of the Year after his Rice team defeated the Railsplitters in the semi-finals.

Scott, who is 6'5" and weighs 203 lbs, was rated by Scout.com as the 5th best shooting guard in the country for the Class of 2013, and passed up schools like Memphis, West Virginia and UConn to attend UMiami. In his freshman year, the five star recruit averaged 9.7 ppg and 3.5 apg, and also lead them to the ACC Championship semi-finals, beating favorites Wake Forest and Virginia Tech. He also made the ACC All-Rookie team.

A native of the Bronx, Scott is an alum of John Philip Sousa Junior High School located in the Edenwald section of that borough.

He joined the San Antonio Spurs for the 2013 NBA Summer League.
