Who was Ferenc Berke?
Ferenc Xaver Berke de Nagy-Barkócz was a Hungarian Slovene Lutheran pastor and writer.
Born in Sembiborci the son of Iván Berke and Juditka Novák. His parents was petty noblemen. In Nemescsó attended the elementary school, by 1778 in Bratislava the Lutheran lyceum. Three years studied in Jena.
Since 1790 in Križevci and different villages was pastor. By October 14, 1805 is the priest of Puconci.
Berke and Mátyás Godina was published the second issue of the prekmurian New Testament Nouvi Zákon of István Küzmics. In 1829, sanction to the György Czipott's prayer-book Dühovni áldov.
