Who is Fernão de Évora?
Fernão de Évora was a Portuguese architect ho directed the construction works at the Abbey of Batalha between 1448 e 1477, which was probably the date of his death. This was a decisive phase of the project when new architectural styles were introduced. Fernão de Évora was the designer of the smaller D. Afonso V Cloister at the north end of the complex.
