Who was Frank Kletzenbauer?
Frank Kletzenbauer was a professional footballer. Born in Coventry 21 July 1936, died 8 August 1996.
He played rugby union at school, representing Coventry, Warwickshire and the Midlands at schoolboy level, while he was also an England schoolboy rugby trialist. Kletzenbauer was signed by Coventry City from local club Municipal Sports in 1953, but did not make his Coventry City first team debut until the 1956 season. He filled either full back position, making 132 appearances in all competitions and scoring 3 goals. He left the Sky Blues in 1964 to sign for Walsall, where his football career ended due to a second broken leg a year later.
