Who was Friedrich-Carl von Steinkeller?
Friedrich-Carl von Steinkeller was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Friedrich-Carl von Steinkeller was captured by Soviet forces during the Mogilev Offensive in June 1944 and was held until October 1955.
