Who is Fritz Orr?
Fritz Orr III is a four time national whitewater canoe champion who makes wooden paddles in Cedar Mountain, North Carolina. He grew up near western North Carolina’s Camp Merrie-Woode. Later in life, he sometimes built and sold boats until he returned to his boyhood home and boatshop in 2007 to make the traditional boat paddles. The paddles are designed for whitewater, slow-moving water, or for display.
