Who is Gideon Buthelezi?

Gideon Buthelezi is a South African light flyweight boxer. His stance is southpaw. Training under Elias Tshabalala's guidance, he was crowned the International Boxing Organization strawweight champion in June 2010. Buthelezi also won the IBO light flyweight title against Hekkie Budler via a split decision at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, Gauteng, South Africa, on 27 January 2011. He fought against Adrián Hernández to unify his IBO title and Hernández's WBC title in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico, but was stopped in the second round on 24 September 2011.
