Who is Grace McCleen?

Grace McCleen is a Welsh author whose first book, The Land of Decoration, was published in 2012 by Chatto & Windus. McCleen was selected by The Sunday Times as one of the four most promising authors to watch in 2012. The Land of Decoration won the Desmond Elliott Prize in 2012. Her second novel, The Professor of Poetry, was published in 2013.

McCleen was born in Wales in 1981. She was raised in a Christian fundamentalist household where she was discouraged from mixing with those outside the religion.
