Who was Günter Corßen?
Prof. Dr. Günter Corßen was a highly decorated Major i.G. in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. After the war he studied medicine and emigrated to the United States of America. He worked at Maricopa County General Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona as a professor.
