Who was Joachim Martin Falbe?

Joachim Martin Falbe was a German portrait painter.

Born at Berlin in 1709, Falbe was instructed by Harper and A. Pesne. Several etchings after Rembrandt, or in the style of that master, which are attributed to him, and some of which are signed with Falbe's monogram, are in existence. In 1764 he was elected a member of the Academy at Berlin, in which city he died in 1782.
