Who is Joan Shea?
Joan Shea MHA, is a Canadian politician in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Shea currently serves as the Minister of Environment in the provincial cabinet. She is the Member of the House of Assembly for the district of St. George's-Stephenville East.
Shea was elected to the House of Assembly in the 2003 general election and was re-elected in 2007, and 2011. She was sworn into cabinet in 2003, and previously held the posts of Minister of Advanced Education and Skills, Minister Human Resources, Labour and Employment, Minister of Education, and Minister of Child, Youth and Family Services. Before entering politics Shea worked as a parole officer in Stephenville.
