Who is Johannes Pramsohler?

Johannes Pramsohler is a violinist specialising in Historically informed performance, currently based in Paris.

Johannes Pramsohler was born 1980 in Sterzing South Tyrol, and studied at the Conservatorio Claudio Monteverdi in Bozen, at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and at the Paris Conservatoire CNR. His main teachers were Georg Egger, Jack Glickman and Rachel Podger. Already during his studies he played with many of the leading period instrument orchestras such as Concerto Köln, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Les Arts Florissants and the Academy of Ancient Music. As part of his career development he was member of the 2007 European Union Baroque Orchestra.

Now increasingly busy as a concertmaster and soloist he regularly leads The King's Consort, Le Concert d'Astrée, the European Union Baroque Orchestra and the Britten-Pears Baroque Orchestra. He is founding member and artistic director of the London based International Baroque Players.

When not touring with various baroque orchestras he works with his chamber music group Ensemble Diderot.
