Who was John Campbell of Mamore?
Hon, John Campbell was a Scottish politician.
He was the second son of Archibald Campbell, 9th Earl of Argyll.
He was Commissioner for Argyllshire in the Scottish Parliament from 1700 to 1707 and surveyor of the King’s works from 1705 to 1717. He was the Member of Parliament for Dunbartonshire, 18 June 1708–25 April 1722 and 23 January 1725–28 September 1727 in the Parliament of Great Britain.
He married Elizabeth, the daughter of John, 8th Lord Elphinstone and had issue:
