Who is Joseph F. Timilty?
Joseph F. Timilty is an American politician who served in the Massachusetts Senate from 1972 to 1985 and was a member of the Boston City Council from 1967 to 1971.
Timilty was a candidate for Mayor of Boston in 1971, 1975 and 1979.
On January 27, 1993, Timilty was indicted on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. On August 31, 1993, he was sentenced to four months in prison and two years of probation.
In 2001, he was a candidate in the special election to fill the vacancy in the 9th congressional district caused by the death of Joe Moakley. He dropped out of the race due to fundraising issues.
