Who was Karl Hotz?
Karl Hotz was a German engineer and soldier, Feldkommandant of the Feldgericht of Nantes. He was killed by a commando of the French Resistance made of Gilbert Brustlein, Marcel Bourdarias, and Spartaco Guisco. This led to the arrest and execution of 48 hostages on 22 October 1941, including Guy Môquet and Jean-Pierre Timbaud.
