Who is Kaveh Rezaei?

Kaveh Rezaei is an Iranian taekwondo exponent and the current world junior champion in Taekwondo. On 16 August 2010, Kaveh Rezaei went on to win gold in the 1st Summer Youth Olympics held in Singapore, by beating Daryl Tan Jia Jun of Singapore 12 - 0 in the semi finals and Nursultan Manayev of Kazakhstan 4 - 2 in the finals of the Men's Under 55-kg category. Kaveh Rezaei was a favourite going into the tournament, and seized Iran’s first gold medal in the Youth Olympic Games.

There was controversy as Iran was earlier accused of putting politics before sports at the inaugural Youth Olympics, when fellow competitor Mohammad Soleimani withdrew from a taekwondo final against Israel, citing injury.
