Major Llewellyn “Lew” Buford Brown was a notable editor and poet in the Southern United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The legendary “Sunshine Offer” he advertised in The Evening Independent was his most famous stunt and helped the little town of St. Petersburg, Florida grow exponentially.
