Who was Louis Tronnier?
Louis Tronnier was a highly decorated Generalmajor in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Louis Tronnier was captured by Soviet forces during the second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive in August 1944. He died on 27 January 1952 at Woikowo prisoner-of-war camp near Moscow.
