Who is Léon Thébaud?

Léon Robert Thébaud, a lawyer and ambassador, was born in Gonaïves, Haïti on 5 June 1894 and died in Paris, France. He worked early on with his father in the import trade of building materials. Léon was appointed Consul General in Marseille, France on October 13, 1927. From 1932 to 1937 he was a Counsellor at the Legation in Paris. Minister Plenipotentiary in Paris and inspector of consulates of Haiti in Europe from 1937 to 1941. He returned to that position after the war in 1952.
