Who was Ma Wanfu?
Ma Wanfu, also known as Hajji Guoyuan 果园哈只, was a Dongxiang-Imam of the village Guoyuan in Hezhou. He studied in Mecca and founded 1888 the Ikhwan-movement, also known as the "New Sect" and it spread in Gansu, Ningxia and Qinghai. They opposed Sufism.
