Who is Mian Iftikhar Hussain?

Mian Iftikhar Hussain from Pabbi, Nowshera is a serving provincial information minister of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province in Pakistan. A senior party activist of the Awami National Party and former student leader of the Pakhtun Student Federation. He has been a strong opponent of the Taliban; in July 2010 he and his family were targeted by extremists in two separate attacks the first of which included the murder of his only son in a targeted attack. He completed his masters in Pashto from the University of Peshawar. Elected three times to the provincial assembly in 1990, 1997 and 2008, he has previously served as the partys provincial general secretary and secretary of information.
