Who is Mokhtar Amalou?
Mokhtar Amalou is an Algerian FIFA football referee. He is married, has two children, and works as head of communication in Algiers. Amalou started refereeing in Algiers within the Ligue de Football de la Wilaya d'Alger in 1992. He has been a FIFA listed international referee since 2007.
Amalou was selected as a referee for the 2011 African U17 Championship qualifiers, 2010 CAF Confederation Cup and 2010 CAF Champions League. He was selected to referee the 2011 LG Cup Final in Marrakech. He was also selected for 2012 CAF Championship qualifiers. Mokhtar Amalou was one of the best referees during the season 2011–12 in Algeria, therefore he was selected to referee the 2012 Algerian Cup Final.
Mokhtar Amalou has been selected as fourth referee by the FIFA's Referee Department for the African qualification zone for World Cup games in Brazil in 2014.
