Who is Neelam Deo?
Neelam Deo is a 1975 batch Indian Foreign Service officer who served as India’s Ambassador to Denmark and Côte d'Ivoire, with concurrent accreditation to Sierra Leone, Niger & Guinea.
During her career, she was posted in the U.S. on two occasions – in Washington, DC and in New York. As Consul General in New York, she was engaged in investment promotion activities.
After serving 33 years in the IFS, she co-founded Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations in 2009. She is also a distinguished fellow with the Centre for Air Power Studies, an advisor to The Climate Group – a consultancy for sustainable development – and sits on the board of Breakthrough, a human rights organization.
