Who is Oz Chiri?

Osvaldo Humberto Antonio "Oz" Chiri is an Argentinean guitarist credited as the founder of progressive hard rock group Blue Embrace. He has also contributed to such bands as Angeles y Demonios in Argentina and Solve and Coagula in the USA.

Oz Chiri started learning music at the age of twelve from his grandmother, Amalia Guillermina Aurora Iraola de Diaz, a piano and guitar teacher. After years of learning music and guitar theory, he started playing in several hard rock bands throughout Argentine's underground music scene. One of his bands, Angeles & Demonios, recorded several LP and performed in several famous venues throughout Buenos Aires. In 1998, seeking to further pursue his musical career, Chiri moved to Hollywood, California, where he played in several bands as a hired musician. He formed 2 projects during his time in California including Solve and Coagula, an experimental mix of medieval rhythms with instrumental hard rock music.

On July 18, 2009, Oz Chiri became the first musician from Argentina to headline at the iconic Whisky a Go Go venue with an American Band.
