Who is Pavel Wonka?
Pavel Wonka was a Czechoslovak dissident of partly German origin and a victim of communist terror. He is the last Czechoslovak political prisoner who died while imprisoned. After being arrested for his liberal views, and he was beaten by the police. He was released because of bad health condition but the judge, Marcela Horvátová, sent him back to prison for another five months. There he died due to a lack of medical care. Horvátová still works as a judge.
